Pacific
Cowboys
The West, a little off script.
Somewhere between street photography, road movie and contemporary western. Venice Beach, Route 66, the desert — and a lot of freedom.

No fixed route.
I made these photographs with an iPhone, moving between Venice Beach, Route 66 and the desert. I was drawn to people who seemed to belong entirely to themselves. Cowboys, surfers, strangers outside motels.
Sometimes the scene felt like a western. Sometimes it was simply someone waiting for the day to change. Pacific Cowboys is my view of that stretch of America: observed on the move, without arranging it.
